description: Muffin-Head's website was of particular note because of the kinetic quality of the design. The use of flat planes of colour and highly-charged movement (courtesy of animated gifs) predated Flash sites of similar quality by about 3 years ( the use of colour bars experienced a similar popularity in graphic design 3 years later as well). Launched in 1997, the site was awarded the One Show Interactive's prestigious Gold Pencil award for best self-promotional site in 1998.
Muffin-Head has since been acquired by DVCi Technologies, and its website taken offline.
